8455. Frederick, H. April 7. Washing and like tanks.-The lower part of the tank a is fitted with a perforated false bottom h, and an adjustable discharge cock f. The plates slide in racks j at the sides of the tank. The racks and bottom h may form an inner casing and slide into the tank. A lighttight lid rests on the bead c, and a band d is stretched round to cover the bead and the edge of the lid, making the tank water-tight. The lid is fitted with a perforated partition g below the inlet cock e. The plates thus lie between two perforated partitions and the perforations in the upper partition are arranged to direct jets of water between the plates.
