Abstract

7995. Simplex Conduits, Ltd., and Waterhouse, L. M. April 3. Cases.-Ceiling roses, and switch, plug, and like fittings are made with a series of screwed inlets adapted to receive either closing-plugs or screwed nozzles 5 to which the cables are joined. The nozzles are bored out with two diameters, the inner and smaller one being adapted to receive the cable stripped of the armour 2, and the larger and outer bore to receive the armoured cable. A conical nut 6 is provided on the outer end of the nozzle, and this when screwed up compresses a plastic metal or other washer 7 on to the cable so as to make a water-tight joint, and in the case of a metallic joint being used an electrically continuous joint. The nipples may be integral with the box and in the flange 4<a> of the box screw holes 4<b> on bayonet-slots 4<c> may be provided for securing the cover. Porcelain or like insulators are provided for taking the internal fitting.
