Abstract

7884. Osmonson, O. A. April 14, 1908, [Convention date]. Squares; bevels. - A combined bevel and square, more particularly for use in laying- out leather in squares, consists of three slotted graduated arms A, B, C. The arm A is provided with a quadrant or protractor 12, and the arm B is pivoted to it by means of a thumbscrew 14. The arm C is provided with a projection 18 at right-angles to the arm, and is pivotally and slidably connected to the arms A, B by thumb-screws 19, 20. The zero of the upper scale 11 on the arm A coincides with the pivot 14, and the scale 15 on the arm B is radial with the pivot 14. When the arm C is at right-angles to the arm A, the zero of the scale 17 on the arm C lies on the operative edge of the scale 11. The arms are clamped in any required relation by means of the thumbscrews.
