5963. Browning, E. M. March 12. Incandescent gas burners.-The inverted burner head 1 on the ordinary mixing-tube 2 forms a superheating-chamber for the gas and air mixture which is emitted through the annular space 6 between the burner head and the cone-shaped body 3, in which is the by-pass 8 leading to the igniting-jet 10. This is arranged in a space 10<a> to protect it from draughts. In a modification, the cone-shaped body is hollow, having the by-pass arranged in its wall. According to the Provisional Specification, the annular space 6 is slightly smaller in area than the mixing-tube.
