Junction-pieces, having plugs or valves, and used in connecting branches to mains under pressure, are provided with one or more square or other projections 8 on the usual screw closing-cap 7, which engage one or more recesses, such as the usual operating-key recess in the screw-plug 6, so that this is prevented from slacking-back under suction and vibration and thus cutting-off the supply to the service pipe. The projection may be formed on the plug 6, and the recess in the cap 7.
