Axles.-In a vehicle for transporting timber &c. the side frames F are bolted to an arched. axle A having a boss A<2>, through which passes a screw C capable of being raised or lowered by means of a nut D provided with arms D<1>. In a modification, the limbs of the axle A are made in two parts, and are secured to the side frames F by through-bolts as shown in Fig. 4. In a four-wheeled vehicle, the arched axle A forms the rear axle and may be adjustable in position along the frames F.
