Pipe cutters.-Relates to pipe cutters of the type comprising a curved head adapted partially to embrace the pipe, a sliding arm movable towards or away from the curved head by means situated at the other end of the handle, and cutting- wheels or other r tools carried by the sliding arm or head. According to the present invention the curved head is adjustably pivoted on that part upon which the sliding arm moves, and means are provided for locking it in different positions. The slide A has a socket B with a projection B', to which is pivoted at D' the forked end of the adjustable head D, co-axial holes D<1> in the end of the fork being adapted to register with one of a series of holes in the part B<1>, locking being effected by a screw pin. Alternatively, the end of the head D may be flat and the part B' forked, and the relative position of the pivot and locking-holes reversed or the series of locking- holes may be in the head. Cutters E, E', E<2> are arranged on the head so that, in any locked position of the head, two of them are symmetrically arranged with respect to the line of motion of the slide A, and the parts of the head between them are cut out to provide clearance for the pipe. The combined adjustments by the slide A and the head D adapt the tool for use on a continuous series of different-sized pipes. If desired, a single cutting- wheel C on the slide A may be provided, and rollers or V-shaped recesses may be substituted for the cutters on the head D.
