3740. Collins, C. E. Feb. 15. Clamps, other than screw.-A closed strap, band chain, bracelet, &c. G is clamped at any desired size by a wedge-shaped piece E under the action of a spring C<1> in a loose box-like part A with which the wedge E engages. One or more hooks F on the part E also engage a slot on shoulders on the spring C<1>. A hinged plate pressed by a spring may be substituted for the spring C<1>, and the releasing finger-piece D may pass through a slot in the part A.
