Clip brackets; stair -rod eyes.-A s t a i r, curtain, or other rod is normally held in locking g engagement with a fixed bracket by a sliding spring-pressed cap or a spring fixed to the bracket, the release being effected by pressure applied by the finger. A recess j<1>, Fig. 2, in the rod j, is held in engagement with a projection c on the fixed bracket b by the spring-pressed cap d<1> whose motion is limited by a tongue-and-slot connexion f, g. Fig. 8 shows the rod provided with a tapered and grooved end k to enable it to be pressed into locking engagement with the bracket. In the modification shown in Fig. 12, an aperture spring n, secured at q to the bracket a, is used instead of a spring-pressed cap.
