Abstract

808. Reynolds, T. Jan. 13. Pedals.-In pedals of the kind composed of two similar sheet-metal sections, dual ball races are secured without any direct connexion in recesses formed in the members of the pedal. The spindle d may be grooved to constitute the inner race of the ball bearing, the outer race being formed by the washers c which are accommodated in semicircular grooves in the two sections a of the pedal. The sections a are held together by screws and bolts and lugs a<2>, rattrap foot-control plates b, Fig. 4, or a metal piece of channel section to accommodate rubber foot-contacts, being utilized as supplementary retaining-means.
