Tickets, issuing.-Relates to coin-controlled sale apparatus of the type in which an endless ribbon, containing postage stamps in pockets, is fed forwards the space of one stamp at each operation, this portion being then severed by a knife and delivered to the operator, and in which registering-mechanism co-operates with the coin mechanism to indicate the number of sales made. The ribbon 100, Fig. 2, passes from a storage roll under a guide 8 to a delivery roller 7, which is mounted on a shaft 6 and has circumferential pins 6<a> engaging apertures 100<a> in the strip. After prepayment, the operator rotates a spindle 12, whereupon a segmental gear rotates the shaft 6 and the drum 7 through a similar gear 17, feeding forwards the next stamp between a fixed blade 50 and a movable blade 22 on a spindle 20. At the completion of each feed a cam 14<a> on the spindle 12 rocks an arm 21, Fig. 3, on the spindle 20, and lowers the blade 22 which severs the strip. Counting-apparatus.-Fig. 11 shows a counting- apparatus for indicating the number of sales through a window in the casing. It is operated at each movement of the lever 25 by a pawl 30<b>, which is carried by a guided rod 30<a> and engages a ratchet-wheel on the 'units' disk 32. The ' units ' and ' tens' disk 32, 33 are each provided with a single tooth which engages alternate teeth 36<a> of the loose pinions 36, 37, respectively. All the teeth of the pinions 36, 37 respectively engage toothed disks on the tens' and ' hundreds ' disks 33, 34. The spindle 31 carrying the units' disk may be rotated by a milled knob 35. When the supply of stamps is exhausted, a projection 39<a> on a spring-pressed plate 39 is adapted to drop into a notch 34<a> of the hundreds' disk 34 and lock the counting-mechanism.
