26,978. Hek, W. S. Dec. 12. Wooden wheels.-Relates to wheels in which each spoke is made in one piece with a felloe as shown in Fig. 1. The felloes are bound together by a metal ring b at each side as shown in Fig. 2. In order to provide a wider tread, as shown in Fig. 3, wooden blocks c are placed between the metal rings and the felloes. Wheels built in this way may be used without tyres or with any ordinary type of tyre. Metal tyres may be put on in segments as shown in Fig. 4, the segments having flanged ends tightened by bolts as shown at f. The hub is of the ordinary artillery pattern with metal or wooden rings bolted through the ends of the spokes. [Reference has been directed under Section 7 of Patents &c.
