26,790. Eldridge, H. Dec. 10. Knives, cleaning &c.-The device consists of a flexible tube or sheath a placed between two boards, the upper one of which is provided with a powder box c. The material of the tube or sheath tapers from one end to the other, thus allowing its walls to approach closely at the further end so as to clean effectively the thin end of the knife-blade. At this end the pressure between the boards is supplied by an india-rubber or like band e, and at the other end by the hand. The opening in the sheath, which is flared for cleaning the bolster of the knife, can be closed by a hinged flap f.
