Opening boxes.-Sheet-metal or other boxes, for boot polishes &c., in which the lid fits over the body, are opened by means of a flexible strip c secured against motion relatively to the box and passing down between the lid and side so that by pulling the strip the lid is raised. A second strip d may be attached to the box to afford a grip, or the strips c, d may be in one piece passed through a hole f. In a modification, the strip c passes across the mouth of the box and may be separate from or attached to it. Rings e may,be attached to the ends of the strips.
