[Cognate Application No. 4112, A.D. 1909, dated Feb. 19.] Tyres, elastic other than pneumatic.- In tyres of the kind in which treadblocks are connected to the rim by curved plate springs, the blocks c, Fig. 1, are separate and slightly spaced apart, the essential feature being that the springs do not touch one another when the blocks abut and spread the load over several springs. The spring e, Fig. 2, is bolted at its outer end through a wooden block g<2> to a piece of channel-iron c<1> carrying a, rubber block c. The inner bolts f, f<1>, securing the spring to the metal rim are formed with flattened heads bearing against the sides of the felloe. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the spring k is short and riveted to an inclined rigid arm h fixed to the tread-block. Auxiliary helical spring s passing through the arm may be used. According to the Provisional Specification No. 23,246, A.D. 1908, plates may be secured to the sides of the inner rim so as to guide the tread-blocks.
