Fig. 1 shows a fitting b at or near the upper extremity of the steering - tube, to which the handle-bar g is pivoted by ball-bearing connexions. The fitting b is provided with a socket l at the rear having a screwed plug o at the lower extremity, by means of which the compression of the spring m can be adjusted. At the forward end of the socket, a tubular member n is provided, of which the outer extremity corresponds to the part it bears against. This sleeve slides in the socket and encloses one end of the spring m.
