Vacuum tubes.-The anode a of an X-ray tube is cooled by a fluid such as air or water conveyed by a tube which passes completely through the apparatus. In the form shown the anode a is a hollow nickel cylinder, connected by short tubes b, preferably of platinum, with glass tubes c, c<1> which may have rubber tubes placed over their projecting ends. One of the glass tubes is of spiral form.
