Abstract
20,487. Pocan, H. F. Sept. 29. Handles.-Relates to tools and tool handles of the kind in which the tool and handle are made detachable, and in which the tool is held in a recess in the handle by means of a hinged member on the handle having a projection adapted to engage a recess in the tool shank, the shank and hinged member being locked together by a slide or sleeve. The end 2 of the handle 1 has a recess 3, preferably rectangular, in which is pivoted on a bolt 4 a member 6 with a number of lugs 7 to engage in transverse slots 9 provided in the shank 8 of the tool. After the member 6 has been turned down and the parts engaged, the latter are locked by a ring 10, the end of the handle being slightly tapered at 11.
