Abstract

A lubricating-pump for the cylinders of internal-combustion engines is actuated by the armature or the interrupting-lever of the magneto ignition apparatus. The oil pump a, Fig. 1, is supplied through a pipe e from a reservoir d placed in the interior of the horse-shoe magnets b, and is actuated by a pin h, which is fised to the oscillating armature or shaft f and passes through a slot g<1> in the bearing g. The piston-rod i may be coupled to the interrupting-lever which is not shown. Fig. 2 sbows a modification in which the magneto apparatus has a rotary armature. A cam k on the shaft f actuates the piston-rod i of the pump a, which is held against it by a spring l. The oil reservoir may be placed in the socket c' of the magneto apparatus as shown in dotted lines at m, Fig. 2.
