Abstract
18,812. DeniÚport, E. Sept. 8. Switches.-A combined interrupter and distributor for electrical ignition systems in internalcombustion engines is constructed with an insulating-disk b carried by the rotating shaft a and having spring-pressed plungers c, d mounted in opposite sides of the disk and on the same diameter. The brush c makes the primary circuit by rubbing on contacts g on an angularly-movable timing-member h, and the secondary current is distributed by the brush d, which passes over terminals e connected with the sparking-plugs. A spring-pressed plunger i serves to convey the hightension current to the plunger d, and also forms an abutment in case the shaft a is defectively mounted in its bearings.
