Abstract
16,132. Macher, A. F. W., and Thumling, J. A. July 29. Fastenings, controlled by handles. To one member b of the hinged frame of a portmanteau or the like is fixed a rigid part a, and to the other member is fixed a lug c suitably recessed to engage the bent part of the member a. To the lug c are pivotally and eccentrically attached two disks e, connected together by a bar f and a curved part d to which the handle is attached. When the part a is in engagement with the lug c, the raising of the handle rotates the disks e so that the bar f retains the part a in engagement with the part c. The movable part of the fastening may be provided with cam-surfaces or the like, so that when engaged the fastening is held tightly in position.
