Abstract

8713. Henrique, J. F. April 20, 1907, [date applied for under Section 91 of Patents &c. Act, 1907]. Gas and like engines, igniting in. An interrupter for an electric ignition system comprises an arm N, Fig. 1, which carries contacts n<1>, n<2>, is pivoted at n, and receives a rocking motion from the magneto or other shaft revolving at the speed of the engine, through an eccentric disk 0, ring o, and a ball bearing. The terminals F, G may be resilient and the contacts n<1>, n<2> rigid, or vice versa. An igniting system for four cylinders and using this interrupter is shown in Fig. 3, in which the magneto A sends current by way of a terminal E to pairs of induction coils in series, the other ends of the primaries being connected to the terminals F, G of the interrupter. The magneto winding is connected at one end to the frame M, and the other end passes through the hollow shaft to an insulated contact bearing against a spring- mounted brush p, Fig. 2. This brush is carried by a bracket P which fits into insulated sockets q in the plate Q of the interrupter. The Specification in the original form, as open to inspection under section 91 (3) (a), comprises also a system for four cylinders using only two coils C<1>, C<2>, Fig. 4, each coil being connected to two plugs in series ; this subjectmatter does not appear in the Complete Specification as accepted.
