Abstract
8174. Lockwood, J. R. April 13. Fastenings, sliding-bolt. The bevelled sliding spring-bolts p, adapted to engage racks provided on extensions of the frame of an adjustable stool, are retained by straps r in channelled castings n, of which one is screwed to each side of the seat k, and are arranged with their heads q close together so that each pair can be operated by one hand. The springs x are stretched between pins v, w attached respectively to the bolts p and the castings n, in slots in which work the pins v. The bolts p and castings n are fitted with a thin wroden covering to prevent interference therewith of the upholstery of the cushion.
