Abstract

4517. Hitchins, W. G. Feb. 28. Wood boxes; lids and covers.-A box constructed of one or more thin layers of wood or veneer, and intended for containing powders &c. is provided with a lid C, Fig. 3, having on its underside a projecting portion C', which is adapted to take into a hole B<1>, Fig. 2, in the cover and has attached to it projections C<3> adapted to engage with the underside of a flange B on the body portion. The flange B has recesses B<2> to permit the insertion of the lid portion, which has similar recesses C<4> to facilitate its attachment and withdrawal. Specifications No. 14,224, A.D. 1884, and Nos. 10,622 and 22,417, A.D. 1905, [Abridgment Class Casks &c.], are referred to.
