Incandescent vapour lamps ; lamp brackets.-In a lamp for motor-cars &c., a spirit lamp heats a refractory mantle, air enters through a series of holes in the door, the reservoir of the lamp is packed so that the lamp is adapted to be proof against cold, rain, high speed, &c., and the lamp is supported by an anti-vibration device. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, a burner i of a type described in Specification No. 11,976, A.D. 1902, is arranged within a chimney D attached by means of a collar e to a jacket A, preferably of copper, within which is arranged a conical reflecting-surface C of german silver with a concave back d. A glazed door B with air-holes c is provided, and the air outlet consists of holes q, r in the parts A, C, and downward openings in a hinged cap E lined at the top with asbestos v. The reservoir of the lamp is covered with felt, and is supported by a cover g secured to the jacket A by screws h to permit of easy cleaning. The filling - plug of the reservoir is protected by a metal cap. The mantle is supported by a rod k and rests on a conical part i of the burner to prevent oscillations. Access to the burner for lighting purposes is effected by a sliding door o, through a hole p in which a regulating-key passes. To prevent shocks, the lamp is supported by sockets F which are received by two forked arms G provided with lining rubber ringe S fixed by bolts u. The arms G are united to an arm H fixed to the motor and provided with a cross-arm t to prevent lateral oscillations.
