Cream, separating.-An annular vessel A having a space B for water in the centre and a bell-sbaped or conical base with a flat edge a' contains the milk, to which cold water is added gradually, by means of a funnel G and tube F, which are supported by a flange f<2> resting on the rims of the vessels A, B. Beneath the flange f<2> is a cone f<3>. Four strainers are provided in the filling-tube, namely, a bucket strainer H surmounted by another strainer of conical form provided with a handle h', a third strainer f fitting over the base of the tube, and another f<1> resting about midway down the tube F. When filling the centre space with water, the funnel G is provided with a removable bucket strainer with a handle, and is placed in a hole in the centre of a lid fitting over the whole vessel. Taps E are provided at the base for drawing-off the milk and the water, and a glass panel D protected by a slotted sliding plate d' is fitted for observing when all the milk has been drawn off. An overflow pipe b prevents the water from mixing with the milk in case of overflowing. In a modification, the central water space is smaller and communicates with annular space around the milk vessel, a channel extending from this vessel to the outer surface at the point where the glass panel D is arranged.
