Ball bearings.-A ball bearing for shafts &c. having two rows of balls is provided with two cup members 20, 21, held against the balls 14, 15 but out of contact with each other by a flanged ring 24. The balls run in grooves in a collar 10 fixed to the shaft 11, and are spaced by a double notched cage 18 of V-section, as shown in Fig. 4. In a modification, the collar 10 is replaced by a double cone, the sides of which are overlapped by extensions on the cups 20, 21. Each ball has two bearing-points, the line joining them being inclined to the axes of the races.
