Ball bearings.-In a ball bearing consisting of two grooved race rings a, b, filling-openings e', which do not extend to the centres of the grooves, are formed on the right and left handed edges respectively of the inner and outer rings, and are spaced in each ring to correspond to the positions of alternate balls, as shown in Fig. 2. In assembling the bearing, half the number of balls used are arranged in each ring, and the rings are brought together laterally under pressure, each ball passing through an opening in the opposite ring.
