Abstract
25,126. Coles, S. O. Cowper-. Nov. 12. Electrodes; electrolytes, agitating.-In a metaldepositing apparatus the cathodes receive a vertical and horizontal reciprocating motion while under the action of the electrolyte, which is sprayed upon them from perforated tubes between strip anodes. The cathodes b are of copper, faced with wax impressed with a pattern and rendered conducting by means of graphite or of soft impressed lead, and are mounted on bars c, d hung from eccentric-rods e, the eccentrics e<2> being driven at different speeds. The electrolyte is led by a pipe j<1> to a central chamber having perforated sides through which the electrolyte is sprayed between copper or other strip anodes h attached to bus-bars i. The cathodes are provided with arms b<1> engaging with guides b<2>, and with strips l for raising and lowering them.
