Act, 1907.] Wire; drawing; rolling; squirting; working by unclassified operations.-Refractory metals difficult to work are made into electric-lamp filaments by embedding the powdered metal in a very ductile metal and working the two together ; the ductile metal may then be removed, or, if sufficiently refractory, like thorium or an alloy thereof, allowed to remain in the filaments. The mixture may be brought to filament form by rolling, drawing, pressing, squirting, or the like, and the ductile metal may be removed by mechanical or chemical means or by volatilization, for example by passage of an electric current.
