Abstract

1 6 , 9 1 8. Wyers, C.,) and Wyers, O., [trading as Wyers frÞres]. July 24. Line floats; leads. - Floats and sinkers are provided with a tube 10, Fig. 6, upon which the body may revolve, and the line 13 passes through the tube and is detachably secured thereto by a wedge 14 on a rod 11, which also passes through the tube and is provided with a line guide and stop 12 at its upper end. When the line is wound in, the stop comes in contact with the end of the rod, and the tension on the line draws the tube 10 from the wedge 14 to detach the line from the float or sinker and enable it to be fully wound in. The body of the sinker is made in detachable sections 17 threaded on a rod 19 rotatably connected to the tube 10 by hooks and rings 20, 21, 22. The. body of the float is made in detachable sections of any kind, two forms being shown in Figs. 4 and 5. The former are attached directly to the central tube, the sections being clamped between a complete circular section and a rubber or spring clip washer ; the latter are provided with eccentric apertures 23 for attachment to a rod 19 as in Fig. 6, and with radial slots for sliding them on to the tube 10.
