Checks and tokens, collecting; counting-apparatus. -A box for receiving and counting checks or tablets is provided with means whereby the check in passing into the receiver operates a mechanical and an electrical counter. The check enters a tunnel or guide C attached to the receiving-box and pushes back the projecting portion L<1> of a hanging arm L, thus raising a stop-pawl K and freeing a spacing-wheel E which projects with the tunnel through a slot C<2>. The spacing-wheel is then rotated by the check through an angle equal to that between its teeth, which are spaced so that the check is just embraced between any two adjacent teeth, and operates the mechanical counter D through a train H, H', H<2>, Fig. 2. In order to reset this counter to zero, the wheel H<1> is mounted on a sleeve h which is capable of sliding along the pin h<1> when pushed aside by a suitable key. An electro-magnetic counter G, placed at a distance, is operated simultaneously with the counter D through a circuit comprising a make - and - break contact F, fixed to the spacing-wheel E, and brushes F', F<4>.
