The strips 1, Figs. 1 and 4, are embraced for two-thirds of their length by strips 2, and the latter are similarly covered by the strips 3, and so on, rivets 4 fastening together the six pieces of leather. The arrangement may be extended to more than six thicknesses, and wide belts may be constructed as shown in Fig. 5, the rivets here keeping the strips together both longitudinally and transversely. The belt may be of rectangular or V-shaped section.
