Abstract

10,343. Coalbrookdale Co., and Evans, A. E. May 3. Roofing-tiles.-A transverse rib b is formed on the upper surface of the tile a at or near the top edge to prevent water from being driven up between the joints, while, to facilitate packing for transport, a corresponding groove c is formed in the under surface, so that the tiles can be nested in the manner shown in Fig. 3. The hanging-nibs d are arranged in two ways, so that, when the tiles are nested, the nibs of each tile enter the spaces between the nibs of the next tile. Figs. 6 and 7 show two modified forms of tile having a rib band nibs d, but no groove.
