8755. Ryan, C. April 15. Collars.-A tie-retaining tab 2, Fig. 2, is attached to the outside of a single collar or to the inner fold of a double collar ; and to prevent the formation of a lump at the back, an inverted, preferably V - shaped, piece is cut out of the collar edge. The recess 3 thus made extends at least as far as would correspond to the upper end of the usual button-hole, so that the collar proper is quite free of the stud. In use, the tie is placed under the tab, which is then buttoned down to the stud or to an ordinary button on the shirt. [Reference has been directed under Section 7 of Patents &c.
