Abstract

25,180. Staples, G. B. Nov. 8. Flooring-tiles are formed of resilient material, and are fixed in position by means of metal clips 5, Fig. 3, having upstanding portions 3 adapted to enter recesses 2 in the tiles. The portions 3 of the clips are provided with bent-over portions 4, which become depressed, as shown, when the tiles are forced into position, and engage with the walls of the recesses 2 to hold the tiles in position. Fig. 4 shows a modified form of clip. Fig. 8 shows another modification of the clip, the tiles in this case being attached to a metal base-plate 6, in which recesses are formed corresponding to those in the tiles. Portions 7 of the base-plate are raised, as shown, to allow the clip to lie flush with the base of the tile. Fig. 9 shows a dovetail form of clip. The tiles are bedded in cement, and the clips may also be secured to them by means of cement.
