Abstract
22,892. Jennings, Ltd., G., and Morley, J. Oct. 16. Lift valves for use in ship Closets and the like. When the lever g<9> is depressed, the air valve g is moved from the seat g<5> and air passes from a reservoir, along a pipe g', to a receiver on the pipe g<2>. Closure is effected by a spring g<4>, but is retarded by means of a cock g<13> which regulates the opening into a passage g<12> admitting air to the underside of the piston. Oil g<14> is contained in the casing. The flushing-valve is shown in Fig. 7, in which h<1> denotes the inlet and h<2> the outlet. Closure is retarded as above described by the regulated re-admission of air beneath the piston along a passage h<6>.
