Abstract

22,599. Harding, A. W. G. Oct. 12. Washing carriages and other vehicles.- A nozzle is provided with a valve which is normally closed by the pressure of the fluid and is held open during use by the pressure of the e hand grasping the nozzle. The ball valve K is c o ntained in a chamber H, and a rod D is held out of contact with this valve by a spring F. A crosshead at the top of this rod is depressed by the pivotod d levers A when the nozzle is grasped, so that the valve K is pushed off its seat by the rod D. A rubber sleeve L surrounds the nozzle. The apparatus may be used for washing the e wheels and bodywork of carriages and motor-cars.
