Cleaning tumblers.-Tumblers are sprayed internally and externally and brushed by external cylindrical brushes and internal helical brushes. A pipe b is connected to a water-supply pipe, and contains a perforated pipe e. The pipe e contains a piston f at its upper end pressed up by a spring, and having a rod supporting a perforated head h<1> sliding in a pipe i connected with the pipe b by an union. An outer spraying-pipe k<1> branches from this union. The head h<1> connects the pipe i with a pipe l carrying a perforated metal headpiece m with a rubber piece n correspondingly perforated. Round and above the pipe i is a pipe o having helical slots which receive fixed screws i<1> on the pipe i, and an internal collar o<2> between collars on the pipe l and the headpiece m. When an inverted tumbler is pressed down on the headpiece, the piston f moves to allow connexion between the pipes e, i, and the tumbler is sprayed. The pipe o also takes a downward helical movement, carrying with it cylindrical brushes p and helical brushes q. The apparatus may be surrounded by a screen s or placed in a vat. The pipe k' may be telescopic so as to deal with glasses with feet. The connexion between the pipes i, o may be by internal projections on the pipe o engaging with helical grooves on the pipe i.
