Abstract

17,841. Haddan, R., [Zahn, O. F.]. Aug. 8. Roller bearings.-The rollers of a roller bearing for vehicles &c. are provided with flanges which, when a roller becomes deflected, frictionally engage shoulders on one of the bearing parts, in order to correct the deflexion and maintain the parallelism of the rollers. The flanges d, Fig. 2, on the rollers a engage the outer sides of rings g on the journal b, the grooves h in the rollers being arranged to have less clearance on the outer than on the inner sides of the rings g. Spacing-rollers f have flanges i rolling on the journal b, and are retained by rings j. End plates k, l are provided with ball thrust bearings m. Fig. 4 shows a modification adapted for a railway vehicle. The flanges d engage shoulders e formed on collars o, p on the journal b. The spacing-rollers are guided by flanges s. The shoulders e may be provided on the outer bearing part c.
