Thread-guides : snarl and end catchers. -The upper, lower, and two side walls of the lappet A are formed of a single piece of sheet metal, the outer end is bent round as shown in Fig. 5, and the shank' of the thread-guide is passed through an aperture in the end of the lappet and secured by an eye-bolt G, the nut F of which may be notched as shown in Fig. 4 and which may be adjusted in a slot in the lappet in order to allow of the lateral adjustment of the guide. The lappet may be fitted with a snarl catcher C, Fig. 2, such as is described in Specification No. 20,830, A.D. 1900.
