Abstract

11,075. Geist, E. H., and Geist Electricitõts Akt.-Ges., E. H. May 12, 1905, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Motor road vehicles. - Consists in a combined steering and braking device for motor-cars, the steering being effected by inclining the wheels both in the same direction, and the braking effected by swinging them in opposite directions. The stud axles on the front wheels are extended inwardly and formed into segments which are pivoted to rack-bars g engaged by a pinion f on the lower end of the steering - pillar. Steering is effected by rotating the steering-pillar about its own axis, and braking by oscillating the steering-pillar about the pin i, which is situated between the pinion f and the hand-wheel. The rear wheels may also be mounted on stud axles connected by crossed links c to those of the front wheels.
