Abstract

10,007. Ahrens, O. L. April 28. Food, preserving.-Raw meat is preserved by first treating the surface with a dry germicide, like salt, and then storing in a neutral gas, such as carbonicacid gas, nitrogen, &c. The meat or the neutral gas is warmed in order to expel all air from the storage chamber and from the pores of the meat. [Reference has been directed under Patents Act, 1902, to Specifications No. 3172, A.D. 1865, No. 5153, A.D. 1882, and No. 5814, A.D. 1898.]
