The plate 1 has a combined index finger 3 and slotted ruler 4 pivoted to it. The various simicircles inscribed on the plate are graduated so as to give angles and gradients, and also the slopes of limbs of letters and numerals. Thecurved notches 25 are provided for drawing the curves of letters. The bottom edge 31 may be turned up for use against a T-square.
