Cutting-machines for lace, embroidery, and fabrics.-Relates to a machine for cutting out lace, embroidery, or other fabrics, in which the cutting and feeding operations are automatically effected, while the. guiding of the material is controlled by the manipulation of a crank handle. The machine resembles an embroidering- machine of the Bonnaz type, and is fitted with the universal feed mechanism of that type, comprising a feeder foot D, actuated by a cam D' and cam lever D', both carried on a sleeve D<3> mounted in bearings C' in the head C. The sleeve D<3> is rotated about its axis to vary the direction of feed by a handle, operating through the usual bevel - gearing. The cutting - device comprises a fixed blade G, Fig. 3, which projects down into a recess in the table, and is detachably secured to a sleeve F mounted on the lower part of the sleeve D<3>, and a movable blade H, pivoted at G<1> to the fixed blade G, and actuated by a bar k, which is vertically reciprocated within the sleeve D<3> by a slide K<1>, operated from a cam on a driving-shaft L. The blades are arranged in a central vertical plane passing through the axis of the cam D<1>. The material if clamped at the required moments by an annular presser-foot M, carried by a stalk M', sliding in a vertical recess in the side of the cylinder F. The presser-foot is normally depressed by a spring, but is raised on the ascent of the bar K by engagement with a projection on the latter.
