Abstract
3174. British Northrop Loom Co., and Hollins, D. M. Feb. 9. Loom stop - motions ; warp tension, regulating ; back-bearers. - In looms provided with warp stop-motion detectors g, which are mounted within a box d on rods h passing through slots in the detectors, the ends of the box d are mounted to slide within prescribed limits on fixed brackets e, and are connected by links k to lugs l secured to the back-bearer a, so that the box and the detectors are moved backwards and forwards in unison with the movements of the back-bearer, thereby preventing undue rubbing of the warps against the detectors. The backbearer is vibrated in the usual manner by the action of a cam b on a lever c connected to the stud of the back-bearer, and the box d may be coupled to an arm on the lever c or may be connected directly with an eccentric on the shaft b<1>, instead of being connected to the back-bearer. The connexions between the box d and the back-bearer may be adjustable, as by means of adjustable collars m between which the lug l is confined on the link k, and, instead of the box sliding on brackets, it may be pivotally mounted to oscillate in unison with the back-bearer.
