3169. Adams, M. J. Feb. 9. Water-waste preventers, siphon - discharge. The long leg A is fitted with a small siphon D, of which the bell G is fixed. Water is admitted to the leg A when the seal in the siphon D is forced, and the exhaustion in the long leg thus caused starts the main siphon. The Provisioual Specification states that the air confined in the bell G may be released by opening a valve or by raising the bell pneumatically.
