Abstract
1403. Hitch, A. J. Jan. 18. Switches, retractive, operated by railway vehicles, comprise a lower case 15 supported on springs 16 carried on the track and an upper case 19 with springs 21 separating the cases 15, 19. The circuit wires are led to terminals 20 which are closed when the upper case 19 is depressed by the wheel flanges of the train, the length of the case corresponding to the distance between two train wheels.
