1182. Soc. Franþaise de la Viscose. Jan. 28, 1905, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Cellulose, non-fibrous.-Relates to the preparation from viscose of cellulose free from inequalities in structure and from gas bubbles. The xanthate obtained in the usual way is allowed to mature at the ordinary temperature. It is then ground in the cold between cylinders and without addition of water. After standing, the uniform mass is passed through a helicoidal sausage or other suitable machine. The compressed mass issuing from the machine is received in suitable tubes or moulds, and is heated, still under pressure, to regenerate cellulose. The product is washed and dried. The material so obtained may be moulded. The process admits of the cellulose product being dyed, and of the incorporation therewith of inert matter.
