(AREA)
Abstract
740. Creassey, F. Jan. 11. Lace and lace-making.-The object is to produce bobbin fining Valenciennes, or similar lace made on the Lever's machine, with a proportionately thinner net ground than is obtainable when all the warp threads required in the bobbin fining effect are incorporated into the net made between the bobbin fining effects. The improved net is made from a smaller number of bobbin and warp threads than go to form the bobbin fining effect; the remaining warp threads, such as o<2>, o<3>; o<6>, o<7>; and o'‹, o<11>, form " clips " s by twisting with the remaining bobbin threads r', r<3>, r<5>. These clips lie above or underneath the net, and are afterwards cut away.
